Authenticity

Spot a Fake

Lattafa's popularity has attracted counterfeiters. Here is how to tell a genuine bottle from a copy — and what to do if you are unsure.

Six checks before you buy

  1. 1

    Scan the security label

Genuine Lattafa boxes carry a 3D holographic security label with a QR code. Scan it on Lattafa's official verifier at verify.lattafa.com — make sure that is the exact address in your browser.

  2. 2

    Buy from a trusted seller

Counterfeits are most often sold through marketplace listings with prices far below the usual retail price. If a deal looks too good to be true, it usually is.

  3. 3

    Inspect the box

Genuine boxes are made of rigid card with sharp, even printing and embossing. Look out for blurry text, spelling mistakes, loose cellophane or glue marks.

  4. 4

    Match the batch code

The batch code printed or stamped on the box should match the code on the bottom of the bottle. Missing or mismatched codes are a red flag.

  5. 5

    Check the bottle and cap

Genuine bottles have smooth glass with no bubbles, a centred label and a snug, weighted cap. The sprayer should give a fine, even mist.

  6. 6

    Trust your nose

A fake often smells sharply of alcohol, fades within minutes or changes character quickly. Genuine Lattafa fragrances develop through clear top, heart and base notes.
